Composite decks
Composite materials are the most popular, as well as first all-man-made decking materials. Today there are hundreds of different manufacturers producing different types of composites. When choosing a composite decking material, it is very important to discuss all the advantages and disadvantages of specific materials with a professional, since the properties and applications vary. Composite decking materials, being on the market for the longest time (compared to other man-made materials), come with the widest range of colours and patterns.
Here are the most common composite materials used:
Trex Decking
Trex is the oldest manufacturer of composite and plastic decking materials on the market. They carry the largest selection of grain surface and colour selection. Applications of Trex should be carefully considered because of some possible complications such as uneven fading (when built around trees) and mildew (in humid areas). Trex is one of the few decking materials with Ministers Ruling.
Eon Decking
Eon is one of the most real-wood looking decking materials out there. Installation using clips method is used for all the deck boards. Deck boards hallow with a varnish finish that tend to scratch up over time.
CorrectDeck Decking
Correct Deck decking is one of the harder composites materials. It comes in variety of colours, can be easily installed with clips or with visible fasteners. Correct deck has a deep grain pattern which gives it a nicer look and a good grip when wet.
Millenium Decking
Millenium Decking is the only Canadian composite material in our composite section. Although Millenium Decking only comes in three colours, its performance makes up for it. Deck boards are installed with an interlocking system therefore eliminating the gaps between deck boards. Millenium decking is one of the few decking materials with Ministers Ruling.
TimberTech Decking
TimberTech is one of the most versatile materials when it comes to the deck board profiles allowing for regular installation with visible fasteners, hidden fasteners with a grooved deck board or interlocking deckboards. TimberTech has a large variety of surfaces and colours. TimberTech decking is one of the few decking materials with Ministers Ruling.
